From Casera Pramosio at a height of 1,521 m above sea level go up a small road, parts of which is cemented (signposted CAI Trail No. 402), to the Pramosio Pass. At a signposted crossroads, turn right and cross the pass at a height of 1,800 m above sea level to enter Austria. Just below the pass, the trail joins signposted CAI Trail No. 403 of the Karnischer Höhenweg (trail under construction), which leads downhill to the right until it joins a road at a height of 1,400 m above sea level that leads downhill past the Untere Bischof Alm to the bottom of the Gail Valley. Here, a road branches off to the right in the direction of Dellach im Gailtal. Cross the river Gail and turn right onto the cycle path that leads to Gundersheim. After crossing the river Gail once again, continue along the asphalted road passing via Goderschach that leads to Stranig at a height of 625 m above sea level. At the entrance to the village, the road starts to the right and leads uphill to the Straniger Alm at a height of 1,501 m above sea level. From the malga mountain hut, head uphill on a forest road to a crossroads just north of the Meledis Pass. Turn right and by crossing the Pass (1,575 m above sea level) you return to Italy. The road winds for a stretch on the flat, passing by Casera Valbertat Alta and descending to the carriageway that leads from Paularo to the Cason di Lanza Pass, which can be reached near the Agriturismo al Cippo holiday farm at a height of 1,403 m above sea level (currently closed). After travelling uphill for two kilometres on asphalt, you finally reach the Cason di Lanza Pass where the Casera Cason di Lanza holiday farm is located at a height of 1,552 m above sea level.
