Sauris di Sopra - Malga Losa

From the square in Sauris di Sopra, take the asphalted road (signposted CAI Trail No. 204) which climbs uphill from the village with a series of steep hairpin bends. The asphalted road ends at a height of 1,750 m above sea level and the road continues with a natural surface until Sella Festons at a height of 1,860 m above sea level. Go downhill for a short distance and, passing near Casera Festons, always following the road, go up to the cove that allows access to the Malins basin. A steep descent leads to a crossroads at a height of 1,697 m above sea level, a short distance from the Casera Malins farmhouse at a height of 1,672 m above sea level. Return to the crossroads preceding the Casera (mountain hut) and take the steep road, that is mostly cemented (signposted CAI Trail No. 204) which climbs up to a mountain pass, situated at a height of 1,880 m above sea level, located on the north ridge of Mount Pieltinis and then descends very steeply to Casera Vinadia Grande at a height of 1,734 m above sea level. Take the uphill road again which climbs up to Forcella Pieltinis at a height of 1,881 m above sea level and then continues downhill, passing by Casera Pieltinis and Casera Gerona (signposted CAI Trail No. 206) until reaching the crossroads at a height of 1,496 m above sea level where you join the asphalted road coming from Lateis. Following the carriageway uphill (signposted CAI Trail No. 220) you finally reach Casera Losa at a height of 1,765 m above sea level.
