From the Rifugio Nordio Deffar shelter at a height of 1,406 m above sea level, take the dirt road downhill to the car park at the end of the road in Valle di Ugovizza. Follow the asphalted road downhill and, at a crossroads on the road near the Locanda al Camoscio, turn right uphill onto a forest road which you leave after about a hundred metres and then turn left along CAI Trail No. 504. The path winds along the left of the Rio Uque river and joins a forest road leading to the Rifugio Gortani shelter at a height of 1,100 m above sea level. In a short time, you reach the asphalted Val Rauna road that you follow for 300 m towards the right on a slight incline. At the fork in the road, turn left onto a wide forest road crossing the river and which climbs in hairpin bends through the wood to the Malga Priu mountain hut at a height of 1,255 m above sea level, in a magnificent position overlooking Val Canale. Go back along the outward forest road to the first hairpin bend and start climbing again, passing by Casera Mezesnik at a height of 1,422 m above sea level, to a wooded ridge at a height of 1,480 m to the south-east of Mount Stabet. Following the road, which has wide hairpin bends through the woods, you travel downwards in the direction of Malborghetto at a height of 747 m above sea level. After crossing State Road No. 13 and the river Fella, you enter the Alpe Adria Radweg cycle path, which you follow in the direction of Tarvisio, passing through Ugovizza, until you cross the road that links from Tarvisio to Valbruna.
Follow the asphalted road to reach Valbruna at a height of 810 m above sea level where you take the Val Saisera road. After 2 km, turn left following the signs for Mount Santo di Lussari. The unpaved road crosses the Saisera stream climbs in numerous hairpin bends on the wooded side of the Cima del Cacciatore and leads, with a constant gradient, to the charming village and the Lussari Sanctuary at a height of 1,770 m above sea level.
