The garlic of Resia, Rosajanski Strok in the local idiom (resiano), is a traditional product typical of the Resia Valley (UD).
Cultivated since ever, it has remained original over time thanks to the geographical isolation of the valley and the cultivation in family gardens, in particular of women, our grandmothers and mothers.
It is characterized by medium / small bulb sizes, with 6/8 radially arranged cloves, without central cloves, and fitted with a reddish tunic.
Presents precise qualities: high digestibility, long shelf life, intense aroma, persistent but delicate: what makes it appreciated even by the most demanding consumers and that makes the number of estimators increases year by year.
Although known in historical times even outside the valley, in the last decade it has been officially rediscovered thanks to the initiative of the community, with the collaboration of the municipal administration, of the Park of the Julian Prealps and above all of the University of Udine (prof. Miceli) .
